Why Vaccinate Your Cat?
Up to 80% of dogs and 70% of cats will experience some form of infectious disease without vaccination. Regular vaccinations protect against life-threatening conditions such as Feline Enteritis, Cat Flu, FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV).
Kittens are born with temporary immunity from their mother’s milk, which fades within weeks, so they require a series of 2–3 vaccinations starting at around 8 weeks of age, spaced a few weeks apart, to ensure they develop strong, long-lasting protection against common infectious diseases.
Immunity weakens over time, so annual health checks and booster vaccinations are vital to maintain long-term protection.
Cats may feel a little tired or tender at the injection site for a day or two. Offer food, water, and a quiet space to rest. If symptoms persist or worsen, contact us for advice.

Why Vaccinate Your Dog?
Vaccination protects dogs from serious diseases such as Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, and Canine Cough. These diseases are highly contagious and can be fatal—especially in puppies and unvaccinated dogs.
Puppies begin their vaccination course at around 6–8 weeks of age, with follow-up doses every few weeks until 16 weeks. This series provides essential protection against serious infectious diseases and includes the C5 vaccine, which is required for entry into most boarding kennels and dog events.
Booster vaccines are essential to maintain immunity. Core vaccines are generally given every 3 years, while Canine Cough boosters are recommended annually.
We also offer annual Heartworm vaccination — a simple, once-a-year injection that protects your dog from deadly Heartworm disease, transmitted by mosquitoes. With cases now recorded in Victoria, protection is more important than ever.
Some dogs may be slightly off-colour or have mild swelling at the injection site for a day or two. This is normal, but if symptoms persist, please contact us.
